Terms of Service

1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CVCater ("the Service"), operated by Seika Group Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. The Service
CVCater is a CV tailoring platform that helps job seekers optimise their CVs for specific roles. The Service includes a web application, a browser extension, and associated APIs. Key features include:
- AI-powered CV tailoring using your existing experience
- Algorithmic ATS match scoring
- A guided CV wizard
- A career dashboard with application tracking
- PDF and Word document export
- A browser extension for job board integration
3. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Gems & Pricing
The Service uses a "Gem" system. Each CV generation costs 1 Gem. Gems are provided through:
- Free tier: 3 Gems included when you create an account.
- Starter plan (£1.99/month): 50 Gems per month, resetting on your billing cycle.
- Pro plan (£3.99/month): Unlimited Gems plus additional features including live job recommendations, interview preparation, and AI quiz.
- Gem top-ups: One-time purchases of additional Gems at the current rate.
Prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscriptions will be honoured at their current rate until the next billing cycle after any change.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing page.
- When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at [email protected] for refund requests.
- Gem top-ups are non-refundable once purchased.
- We do not store your payment card details — all billing is handled securely by Stripe.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to generate fraudulent, misleading, or dishonest CV content (fabricating qualifications, experience, or credentials you do not hold).
- Attempt to bypass the Gem system, exploit the API, or automate usage beyond normal personal use.
- Access or attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service or its underlying technology.
- Submit content that is abusive, hateful, or violates the rights of others.
7. AI-Generated Content
- CVCater uses AI (OpenAI) to assist in tailoring your CV. The AI rephrases and restructures your existing experience — it does not fabricate qualifications or skills.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of any generated CV before submitting it to employers.
- We do not guarantee that a tailored CV will result in interviews, job offers, or any specific outcome.
- ATS match scores are indicative and computed algorithmically — they do not guarantee compatibility with any specific applicant tracking system.
8. Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of the CV content you submit.
- You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the Service (tailoring, scoring, export).
- The CVCater platform, branding, code, and design are owned by Seika Group Ltd. and protected by copyright.
- The browser extension is provided for personal use only and may not be modified or redistributed.
9. Data & Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR and UK data protection law.
10. Limitation of Liability
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seika Group Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
- On termination, your stored data (CV content, generation history) will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
